Community rules
Nampa only works if people feel safe enough to say real things. These rules protect that.
The short version: talk to people the way you would if they were standing in front of you. Don't threaten, harass, exploit or impersonate anyone, and don't record what isn't yours to keep.
The idea
A voice carries more than words, which is why it can hurt more too. Nampa is built for small, real conversations between people who chose each other. Every rule below exists to keep it that way.
What's not allowed
- Threats and violence. No threats against anyone, and no encouraging violence.
- Harassment. No bullying, and no sending notes to someone who has made it clear they don't want them.
- Hate. No attacking people for their race, ethnicity, caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar.
- Anything sexual involving someone under 18. We have zero tolerance. We ban the account and report it to the authorities.
- Unwanted sexual content. No sexual notes to anyone who hasn't clearly said yes.
- Intimate content shared without consent. Never share or threaten to share intimate audio or images of someone else.
- Impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone else, or misuse a voice to sound like them.
- Private information. Don't share someone's address, documents or other private details.
- Scams and spam. No fraud, no fake offers, no mass messages.
- Self harm. Don't encourage anyone to hurt themselves. If someone you know is struggling, help them reach people who can help.
- Illegal goods and services. Don't use Nampa to buy, sell or arrange them.
- Selling invites. Invites can't be sold, traded or advertised.
Recording and sharing
Nampa blocks screenshots and screen recording, but someone could still hold up a second phone. Doing that to share a note without the sender's permission breaks these rules, and we treat it seriously because it breaks the promise the whole app is built on.
Invites come with responsibility
Every invite traces back to the person who sent it. Invite people you'd vouch for. If several people you invite are removed for breaking these rules, we may pause or remove your invites.
Reporting
Press and hold a note or a profile and choose Report. When you report a note, your phone sends us that note so a person can hear what happened. You choose whether to send it, and the other person is never told who reported them.
You can also block anyone at any time. They won't be told, and they can't send you notes.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What happens when rules are broken
A person reviews every report. No AI makes these decisions. Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- Send a warning.
- Limit some features, like sending to circles or using invites.
- Suspend the account for a while.
- Remove the account for good.
Anything involving children, credible threats or intimate content shared without consent leads to immediate removal, and we report it to the authorities where the law requires.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@nampa.app within 30 days and tell us why. A different person from the one who made the first decision will look at it, and we'll reply within 14 days.
