Terms of service
The agreement between you and Nampa. We've kept it as short and as plain as we can.
The short version: be real and be kind. You own what you say. Nampa is free. Notes end, and we can't bring them back.
Agreeing to these terms
By using Nampa you agree to these terms, our community rules and our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Nampa.
Who can use Nampa
- You must be 16 or older, or older still if the law where you live requires it.
- You need an invite from someone already on Nampa.
- One account per person. You don't have to use your legal name, but you can't pretend to be someone else.
Your account
Keep your phone and your sign in codes to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it. Our account recovery policy explains how to get back in.
Invites
Each member gets three invite codes a month. Invites can't be sold, traded or advertised, and every invite traces back to the person who sent it. If people you invite keep breaking the rules, we may pause your invites.
What you say is yours
You own your voice notes. You give us permission to store them, encrypted, and deliver them to the people you choose, only for as long as it takes to do that. That permission ends when the note is deleted.
Only send what you have the right to share, and don't send other people's voices without their permission.
Notes end
A note is deleted after one listen and one replay, or 24 hours after it was sent if nobody plays it. Once a note ends we can't restore it, for you or anyone else. Please don't use Nampa to keep anything you need to keep.
Things you can't do
- Break our community rules or the law.
- Record, copy or share other people's notes without their permission.
- Try to get around screenshot blocking, encryption or any other protection in the app.
- Use bots, scrapers or automated accounts.
- Interfere with Nampa, or test its security without following our reporting rules.
Price
Nampa is free. Version one has no paid plan and nothing to buy. If that ever changes, we'll tell you well ahead of time, and nothing you already have for free will start costing money without your say.
Changes to Nampa
We'll keep improving Nampa, which means features will change and some may go away. If a change affects you in a big way, we'll tell you first.
Closing an account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or the law. When we do, we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can appeal as our community rules describe.
What we can promise
We work hard to keep Nampa running and secure, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or never have a fault. As far as the law allows, Nampa is provided as it is.
Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for losses that come from things outside our reasonable control, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be taken away.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
